It’s now official  – Naughty Dog’s hit The Last of Us from 2013 gets a second part. After the first round of rumors, the first trailer was presented on the PlayStation Experience.

Driven by revenge

The trailer opens with a small settlement in the forest, the sign of the fireflies is sprayed over a road sign. Ellie has grown up, we see her tune her guitar and then play. She sings “Through the Valley” by Shawn James, a song inspired by Psalm 23: 4, but marked with guilt and vengeance.

In the house we see three dead bodies. Whether these are innocent survivors or fighters of the fireflies remains unclear. Joel steps in and asks if she really wants to go through her plans. She only replies that she “will find and kill every one last of them”.

Further details remain hidden at first, but we assume that Ellie and Joel have made powerful enemies through their disappearance. The last concept with men in Riot uniforms speaks for the fact that state forces are behind them – but also the Fireflies could still have an open grudge against the duo.

The Last of Us part two could be released next year, but we are expecting it in 2018. We are very excited to see if this title will be able to meet its great predecessor and will keep you up to date on all the latest news.
