The FPS-RPG Cyberpunk 2077 runs anything but smooth on the consoles. The older generation of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in particular have to struggle with massive problems. Developer CD Projekt Red announced refunds, but Sony often rejects them. Where is the problem?
That’s going on: On December 14th, CD Projekt Red officially apologized for the problems players are having on the consoles. Cyberpunk 2077 is unplayable, especially on the older PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. But there are also tons of problems on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Cyberpunk only runs smoothly on the next-gen consoles and the PC, if not completely bug-free.
CD Projekt Red has therefore announced that it will give console owners in particular the opportunity to apply for refunds. Even if you have played significantly longer than the refund regulations allow.

Sony refuses to accept Cyberpunk 2077 refunds
That’s the problem: On Twitter, Reddit, and Co. more and more angry PlayStation owners are gathering, who are rejected by the customer support at Sony. Even if they make it clear to the support that Cyberpunk 2077 is unplayable, they have only spent a few hours in the game and prove to them that CD Projekt Red offers Refunds, Sony is stubborn.
Sony customer support doing EVERYTHING to not refund cyberpunk via them as CDPR said they could.

Sony even mention the current post from CD Projekt Red, in which they say that major patches are planned in January and February. The same post in which they offer the refunds.

Here’s why Sony does it: Sony’s current refund policy states that the customer has 14 days to cancel a digital game. Pre-ordered content is also included in this set of rules. However, it is only possible if the game has not yet been downloaded or streamed – unless it is a faulty title.
And that’s exactly what Sony support relies on. Since Cyberpunk 2077 has already been downloaded in most cases, a return is not possible. Even if it is a faulty title in the current state.
Xbox responds similarly
Xbox support reacts not quite as dramatically, but similarly. Again, some cancellations are not accepted as Xbox considers a digital purchase final. Mitigating circumstances can be taken into account, and it depends a lot on which support employee you catch at the other end of the line.
