Someday you will return

CBE Software, a two-man studio located in the Czech Republic revealed their new game; Someday You’ll Return. It’s a story-driven psychological horror game which takes place in the Czech Republic. But, what is it all about?

A lost daughter

Stela is missing and her father is tracking her down to a place he never wanted to return to. She runs away often but this time you have the feeling it’s different. As you play Daniel, her father, you follow her into the Moravian forest where you will reveal secrets that you rather didn’t know. In this case, the game is heavily inspired by the forests in the Czech Republic and its myths.

”While the story contains strong horror elements it’s not always the most obvious monsters which are the most frightening.”

Someday You’ll Return is a semi-open world game, where landmarks will avoid you from getting lost. Besides the walking and crouching players are able to interact with the environment by picking up items, tracking footprints and clues, and climbing walls. In addition, flowers and herbs can be used for brewing potions and other materials are used for crafting or repairing. While you used your phone to track down your daughter, you can also use it to call someone or as use it as a lighting source.

The developers itself mention that the game is comparable to Firewatch, Outlast 2 and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. While this should already grab your attention, the trailer above gives an idea of what we can expect, by combining beauty and disgust.

Someday You’ll Return is planned to release on PC and consoles in 2019. While the specific date and price aren’t known yet you can already wishlist the game on Steam.
