At last, Saurian fans finally have an answer to the question that’s been on all their minds: When will Saurian’s Early Access launch? Well, recently Urvogel Games announced that the open world simulator will be released via Steam on the 31st of July, 2017.

Early Access & Kickstarter Campaign

This long awaited Early Access announcement has been a struggle for many Saurian fans out there, who have been waiting since the title first surfaced on Kickstarter back in May 2016. Tremendous support has been shown and the developers achieved their goal of $50,000 in just two days! They reached $220,709 by the end of the campaign in late June 2016. The initial release date was set for Spring 2017, but this was delayed back in March to further polish the game’s key features. Fans can finally rejoice, with a set in stone release date and the confirmation that Saurian will be available on Windows, Mac, and Linux PC platforms. Unfortunately, there is no current plan for console compatibility.

Take a Walk on the Dino Side

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the title, Saurian is open world simulator seen and played through the eyes of dinosaurs. In this vast jungle terrain, you will take control of either a Dakotaraptor, Pachycephalosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, or Triceratops. As one of these four, you will be brought into the world as a hatchling and experience a realistic life-cycle as you reach adulthood and fight or forage for survival.

Something to note is just how incredibly detailed and realistic these dinosaurs look and behave. It’s clear that the developers made sure to do their research so that these playable creatures were as scientifically accurate as possible. However, like a real dinosaur, players may struggle to survive against the many dangers of prehistoric life, ranging from environmental disasters such as fires and storms to being hunted by other A.I dinosaurs. Players will be able to choose between single-player and multi-player, living a life of solitude or battling it out for survival against friends.

Although Saurian does seem like an exciting and impressive dino simulation, the developers do urge to remind us all that the title is still currently in development. So we can expect a bug or two and much more content to come. The devs do promise to patch consistently and update the game as often as possible with all new fixes and features.
