A brand new trailer for survival horror game Friday the 13th: The Game has been released and with it came the upcoming title’s release date. The publisher and developer, Gun Media , also revealed that the game will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The multiplayer for Friday the 13th: The Game will see official launch on May 26th, 2017 for 40$ across all platforms. A single-player mode including bots will be available later this summer. Until then, the game will only be playable online with other real life players controlling the characters.
In multiplayer mode, you will play as the classic horror character Jason Voorhees or a teenage camp counsellor. As Jason, you must hunt down and kill the 7 camp counsellors scurrying to escape Crystal Lake. Escaping Jason can be rather tedious, as he has heightened vision and hearing along with teleportation abilities. If you want to survive Jason’s wrath, you’ll have to get innovative by setting traps, hiding, and creating distractions. The beta and trailers depict the game as extremely brutal, much like the films with their gritty and (literal) gut wrenching murder depictions.
