The dino survival sandbox that is ARK: Survival Evolved has been a roller coaster of success and failure since day one. With the promise of a full release finally on the horizon, years after the initial Early Access release, fans and players everywhere are jumping for joy. But just how much longer are we going to have to wait?

A Short Delay

Although to be expected, it was still disappointing to learn that the full release of ARK: Survival Evolved has been pushed back a few weeks from the 8th of August to the 29th. Studio Wildcard is extremely apologetic and explained that the certification process for retail release on consoles has taken much longer that expected. Let’s hope no other hiccups arise.

Ready for Ragnarok?

PC Priority as Consoles Wait in Line

Unfortunately setbacks very rarely come without consequence. Because of this three week delay for ARK’s full release, console gamers are now having to sit by patiently and wait even longer for the Ragnarok DLC that the PC players already own. Wildcard has assured all the frustrated fans that the extended time will allow for further development of the DLC and will be well worth the wait.

Ragnarok promises an enormous world expansion, brand new biomes, bosses and beasts! Not to mention all new engrams and a special secret feature yet to be revealed.

Now that Studio Wildcard’s ARK: Survival Evolved┬áhas completed its Gold Master and certification for retail, the developers are confident that their release date is set in stone and have decided to take some time to focus on the PC and multiplayer versions of the game. Aside from the immediate patches on the way, Wildcard wants to work on improving the PC version’s performance and polishing some much loved aspects of the dinosaur world.

In the coming weeks we should expect to see changes to multiplayer boss fights, the baby to juvenile stasis issue and much more. Multiplayer boss fights have always been a sore spot for players, with unrealistic difficulty levels and frustrating damage output. The developers are working to make these hardcore fights more reasonable and balanced, while still keeping them interesting and enjoyable. The baby to juvenile stasis bug has been just one of the many problematic interactions with infant dinosaurs in ARK. Sometimes the baby glitches out and refuses to develop into the next stage of life, preventing them from ageing, eating and ultimately causing their death. The developers at Wildcard are eager to put this bug and many more behind them as they move forward towards completion.

Although it is a shame that ARK: Survival Evolved’s full release date has had to be delayed, we here at Survivethis have enjoyed the journey and applaud the effort and love put into this game and the longstanding dedication of all the developers. We wish them a successful release and the best of luck with their improvements.
